If the Building Official finds that any sign is unsafe or insecure, or is a menace to the public safety, or has been constructed, erected, relocated or altered in violation of the provisions hereof, he shall give written notice to the owner or the tenant of the property wherein it is located to remove or alter such sign. If the owner or tenant fails to comply with the provisions of this title within 10 days after such notice, the Building Official may cause such sign to be removed and the cost thereof shall be paid by the owner or tenant. The Building Official may cause any sign that is an immediate peril to persons or property to be removed summarily and without notice. [Ord. 3790 § 5, 2006; Code 1970 § 17.09.040.]
