If the provisions of PMC 17.40.010 are not complied with regarding removal or alteration of nonconforming signs, and no appeal is made in accordance with PMC 17.40.040, the nonconforming sign may be removed by the City, and the cost thereof shall be charged to the owner or tenant. If the removal of any sign requires compensation in accordance with RCW 47.42.107, such sign may remain until the City orders compliance by written notice.
