Upon receipt of the completed application, supplemental documentation, and the application fee, the City Business Licensing Service shall refer the application to the City Fire Marshal, who shall conduct an investigation and inspection of the applicant, business activity, and business locations to determine compliance with applicable codes, siting requirements, eligibility of the applicant, including the applicant’s past compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and ordinances. The Fire Marshal shall submit a report of findings and a determination to approve or deny the license application. Denial of the application may be appealed by the applicant as provided below.
