(1) General. The City Engineer shall not hereafter designate or sign any curb loading zone upon special request of any person unless such person makes application for a permit for such zones and for one sign to indicate each such zone; provided, however, that no permit issued hereunder shall be exclusive. The City Engineer, upon granting a permit and issuing such signs, shall collect from the applicant and deposit in the City Treasury a service fee of $50.00 per year or fraction thereof and may by general regulations impose conditions upon the use of such signs and for reimbursement of the City for the value thereof in the event of their loss or damage and their return in the event of misuse or upon expiration of permit. Every such permit shall expire at the end of one year.

(2) Theaters. Permits for curb loading zones in front of theaters shall be issued by the City Engineer subject to the approval of the Police Department of the City and shall be properly signed and/or curb-painted yellow. It is unlawful to park any vehicle in front of any theater in the City at any time when the theater is open to the public. [Code 1970 § 10.60.020; Code 1954 § 8-36.08.]
