As used in this chapter, “park purposes” means the acquisition of land for park and/or recreational purposes or for major capital improvements to an existing facility, such improvements being of a nature that substantially increases the capacity of or the ability to utilize said facility, or for major capital expenditures to construct new facilities that do not replace existing facilities except to the extent a new facility has greater capacity than the facility it replaced. Park purposes shall not include maintenance and operating or repair or mere replacement of existing facilities. [Ord. 2139 § 4, 1980; Code 1970 § 3.29.040.]
