In order to determine the suitability of alternative materials and methods of construction and/or installation and provide for reasonable interpretation of the provisions of the energy code, the Board of Appeals, created pursuant to Appendix B of the most current state-adopted International Building Code(s) as amended by PMC 16.05.040, shall hear appeals and make determinations arising out of or in connection with the decisions of the Building Official. When it is claimed that the provisions of this code do not apply or that the true intent or meaning of this code has been misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, the applicant may, within 30 days of the decision, appeal to the Board of Appeals.
