Any sign, including support frames, now or hereafter existing which no longer advertises a bona fide business conducted, or a product sold or service rendered, shall be removed or the advertising copy shall be painted or coated out. If the property owner or tenant fails to do so within 30 days after written notice from the Building Official, the Building Official shall cause the sign to be removed or painted out and any expense incident thereto shall be paid by the owner or tenant. All sign frames and supports of abandoned signs must be removed within one year of the date of abandonment or business closure. [Ord. 3790 § 5, 2006; Code 1970 § 17.09.050.]
